Craig W. Shier was employed for 33 years as a system engineer, designing and integrating complex systems for the defense, finance and rail industries. He has seen numerous generations of technology come and go. But even the best built systems will have unexpected consequences. Always an eclectic reader, he enjoys history, theology and literature. Since retiring, he has continued his interests with a focus on the medieval age and its episodes of change and progress. He currently lives near Jacksonville, Florida.
